Hand Sewing for Beginners - Making Fabric Yo - Yos with Marijke

Fabric yo-yos became popular in the 1920s - 1940s and are a great way to use up smaller pieces of fabric or scraps. This craft was born out of people wanting to salvage their favorite pieces of clothing once they were threadbare.

They are a great project to learn how to sew by hand and gain the muscle memory we need to create neat, hand sewn stitches.

Fabric yo-yos, also called suffolk puffs, can be used for appliques, quilts, coverlets, vests, cardigans, dolls, home decor, the applications are endless! Everyone is welcome to bring any fabric they may have that they want to use. Some fabric options will be available at the workshop.

Join for a relaxing evening of meditative hand stitching while highlighting eye-catching fabrics! This workshop is great for people who are new to hand sewing, but all skill levels are welcome! Ages 9+
