In this 3 hour workshop you will learn the essentials of modern round weaving by creating weavings on 8-inch metal hoops. The instructor will guide you through basic round weaving techniques using a variety of colorful and textured fibers to create your own fiber art piece.

You will learn these basic round weaving techniques:

• How to wrap and warp your metal hoop using cotton cord and string

• How to pick out your color palette and fibers

• Tabby Stitch

• Soumak

• Roving Bubbling

• Looped Rya and Rya Knots

• Lark's Head Knot

• Cleaning Up Fiber Ends and Finishing

All workshop materials will be provided, including an 8-inch metal hoop, many different colorful and textured fibers to choose from and a small wooden stand to take home for your weaving if you do not want to hang it on a wall.
