About the Artist
Hello, I'm Vanessa Rios, a young artist that resides in Bishop, California. I've created artworks for more than a decade, featured in video games, galleries, marketplaces, and murals around both Mono & Inyo Counties. I've created numerous artworks for LADWP & McDonald's Franchise. I also won the Tri-County Fairgrounds Best of Show, Division, & Judges Award at 17 years old. I've participated in Scholastic Art & Writing, CSSSA, Walgreens Expressions, and won the Death Valley National Park Art Annual Pass for 2024. I've created murals for C5 studios, Blacksheep Cafe, & for the City of Bishop. Most of my art is inspired by wildlife and the exaggeration of color or contortion. I personally love painting with acrylic & oil, but have numerous experiences with different mediums such as wood burning, printmaking, watercolor, ceramics, and more. All my artworks are mostly handmade, from canvas to pigments. In the fall of 2024, I'm attending RISD, Rhode Island School of Design, majoring in Painting, as well as further developing my career as a DVM/Medical Illustration profession.
