Floral Anomalies of the Eastside
Richard Potashin
Having worked as a pseudo-botanist, Richard uses images to name plants and makes the connection between botany and art. Anomalies are an educational tool for children and others who would like to use visuals to remember plant names. They allow for a whimsical perspective of our native flora, relieving the seriousness of science and adding humor and playfulness to our learning. Richard's Anomalies bring joy, knowledge and frivolity to our relationship with plants. He hopes within this work to encourage others to explore the juxtapositions that emerge when we create connections between seemingly unrelated things.
