Forest Crafting 1: Branch Buttons and Butter Knives

A Crafting Workshop with Erin Boehme

Friday June 23rd, 2023 - 9.30am - 11.30am at the back of City Park

Forest Crafting is a series of crafting projects to do outdoors; simple, beginning skills to support nature connections and crafting with natural materials.

A tree branch is a wonderful, useful material to start with on your journey into forest crafting. Join us for an outdoor workshop where we will turn tree branches into wooden buttons and organically shaped butter knives.

In this beginning class we will practice knife safety with fixed blade knives, whittling green wood, sawing and sanding to finished projects. This is also an excellent class for teachers who want to bring these skills to their students.

*If you have a fixed blade sharpened carving knife, please bring to this workshop.

Participants should meet at the back of the City Park

We will have knives for participants to use. All other materials will be provided.

This is a beginning class for ages 10+
