Fencing Club for Teens with Marc de Jong

Join former National Champion and accomplished coach Marc de Jong and learn to fence right here at C5 Studios!
Marc has a vast amount of experience, fencing both Foil and Epee since he was a teen himself. He was Junior National Champion in South Africa when he was 15, and was recruited by the University of Notre Dame where he fenced and coached beginners throughout his time there. Marc was NCAA champion in 1982 and was undefeated that year! He was was captain of the Notre Dame squad in 1983. Ten years later, after taking some time off from fencing to work as a designer, he astonished his rivals by coming 2nd in the SA Fencing Federation Foil competition, with only two weeks of training!
Marc’s motto is “Hard work, courage and fun” and his coaching regime at C5 Studios will be based on the novice program he developed at Notre Dame.
TASTER SESSIONS for $15 - If you would like to try out fencing, you may sign up for a single taster session on any Tuesday for Thursday in May to attend, observe and participate! One taster session per participant maximum, to continue attending sessions you will need to register for regular sessions.
Please note: Aside taster sessions, fencing sessions are generally NOT “drop-in” - participants should plan to attend most classes where possible to benefit the most from this opportunity.
Cost is $25 per class, all equipment is provided.
