Pet Portraits
A watercolor workshop with Ana Budnyk
Thursday March 24th, 2022 - 5.15pm - 7pm
Have you always wanted to create a memorable portrait of your own pet, create a unique pet portrait as a gift for a friend or draw the pet of your dreams? In this workshop, you will learn how to transfer a printed image of your pet onto watercolor paper, premix the colors and apply wash layers using watercolor paint. We will also explore how to observe and paint details such as eyes and fur to create a fun and expressive pet portrait!
For this workshop you will need to bring two different photo portraits of your pet. A great photo will help you create a great painting! Ideally, the photo should have good lighting - taken outside or next to a sunny window. If possible, consider the camera perspective - try to make the pet’s eyes and camera be at the same height - you may have to squat down or lay on your belly - have fun!
Please print your photos on regular paper (color or black and white - we suggest having the color image for reference on your phone if you don’t have one printed) and ensure the image is 8x8 inches or larger.
If you cannot print the images yourself you may send your images to us at contact@c5studios.org at least 24 hours before the class.
This class is for ages 14+ and all levels of experience are welcome.
