In this program of four classes, young artists will investigate the foundational principles and skills of painting.   

We will explore how we can create a range of effects with various different kinds of paint and methods of application.  Participants will experiment with communicating their own ideas and experiences through the marks that they make and the art that they create.

They will play with elements of art such as pattern, texture and color, exploring the effect of using these elements in a variety of ways to create their own unique works of art. They will look at inspiring examples of how other artists have used different ideas, techniques and materials to make their art and experiment with a wide range of different art-making techniques.

This is a block of 4 classes with each class both building on the previous class AND accessible as a stand alone session.  Students may register for individual sessions or for the entire 4 week block of classes. To register for multiple sessions please specify number of sessions in “Quantity” before registering and specify the dates in the form required for checkout.
