Elements and Emotions - Using Qigong movement, sound and vibration to balance and harmonize our emotional energy bodies
A Qigong workshop with Betsy McDonald
Saturday, February 4th, 2023 - 10.30am - 12.30pm
In the traditional Chinese medicine view of our body, our emotions are connected to our internal organs: heart, kidneys, digestive system, liver, and lungs. Each organ system is connected with an element of the earth and generates specific emotional energy. When energy is sluggish or stuck in a particular organ system, the emotions manifested may be unhappiness, hatred, paralyzing fear, anxiety, irritation, anger, and unmitigated sadness. These are all states of energy and have amazing potential to transform and open us to depths of joy, love, creativity, trust, courage, discernment and compassion.
In Wisdom Healing Qigong we use our own voices to create sounds from ancient Taoist texts to open up the flow of energy in each organ system to transform those challenging energies. We use movement to cultivate, nourish and encourage a free flow of life giving energy in our being. Other properties of our organ systems include connection to specific earth elements, colors, and patterns of energy flow. We’ll explore all this and more.
All movements may be modified to work with any limitations you may have at the moment. Qigong is a powerful healing modality, even if you just imagine or visualize the movements, so if you need to sit or even lie down, you will still receive the benefit.
Masks will be required and will be available.
No specialized attire or footwear is required. Please arrive in comfortable, non-restrictive clothing.
